Looking for a solar solution that balances high energy production with efficiency and long-term value? A 25 kW solar system might be the right fit. Capable of generating around 25 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy per hour under ideal conditions, this system is suitable for larger homes or small businesses with moderate to high energy needs. Below, we’ll explore what a 25 kW system can offer and help you determine whether it’s the right size for your property.

A 25 kW solar system is ideal if:
This size system works well for larger households, small farms, workshops, or businesses with moderate operating loads. If your solar system produces more electricity than you use, you may be able to benefit from net metering, earning credits by sending surplus energy back to the utility grid.
At Belmont Solar, we design every system with your energy needs and property layout in mind. Our 25 kW solar systems are available in three main configurations:

Stay connected to the utility grid while using solar energy as your main power source.

Generate and store your own electricity independently, ideal for remote properties or those seeking total self-reliance.

Use solar energy, access grid power when needed, and store excess energy in batteries for backup use.
We’ll help you choose the best option based on your energy usage, site layout, and long-term goals.
A well-designed 25 kW system includes several key parts that work together to produce clean, reliable energy.

Your panels capture sunlight and turn it into electricity. To reach a 25 kW capacity, you’ll typically need 25–35 premium solar panels, depending on their wattage and your location’s sun exposure. Belmont Solar installs high-efficiency, American-made panels backed by our triple 10 warranty!

Inverters convert the direct current (DC) electricity generated by your panels into alternating current (AC) electricity used by your appliances. Modern inverters include real-time energy monitoring, ensuring your system operates at peak performance. We install Sol Ark, Solar Edge, and Tesla inverters.

Smart meters monitor how much power your system generates and how much you use. Grid-tied and hybrid system produces and track how much you use or send back to the grid. You will need a smart meter to benefit from net metering. You will also need a production meter to calculate and sell SRECs, another way you can make money with solar.

A battery is only necessary on Off-Grid and Hybrid systems. Off-grid and Hybrid systems use the battery to power the home at night. The battery on a Hybrid system also functions as a backup system in case of a power outage.

Whether getting a roof or ground mount system, you will need a racking system to mount the panels. We install Tough Trac, our in-house designed and manufactured solar panel racking system! Tough Trac is the strongest in class and integrates the panel wire management within the racking, making it a superior solar panel racking system!
