Belmont Solar Featured on The Financial Times List of the Americas Fastest Growing Companies 2026

Gordonville, PA., April 2026Belmont Solar has been recognized on the Financial Times List of The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies 2026, ranking at #242. The list is published annually by the Financial Times and Statista to celebrate the fastest-growing independent companies in North, Central, and South America.

The 2026 rankings include 300 businesses across the region with the highest compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2021 and 2024. In those years, Belmont Solar’s growth rate was 57.1% with a compound annual growth rate of 16.3%. The growth means more than just numbers; it has allowed Belmont Solar to expand its team and reach more local communities.

Founded in 2002 by Ben Zook, Belmont Solar is a Pennsylvania-based solar design, service, and installation company. Zook, certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), founded the company to provide clean power to families across the Mid-Atlantic area. Belmont Solar offers grid-tied, hybrid, off-grid, and commercial solar systems as well as solar panel maintenance and solar panel system components

Growth, like what Belmont has experienced, happens when a company has a clear vision for its future and its community’s. Belmont Solar’s expansion includes the acquisition of Tough Trac, a leading designer and manufacturer of solar panel mounting systems, and partnerships with Solar for America, Sol-Ark, and Tesla. Belmont Solar was also recently recognized on Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractor 2025 lists, and founder Ben Zook participated in the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour, welcoming those interested in solar to his net-zero home.

For Zook, education is an essential part of his work at Belmont Solar. He sees a lack of awareness of what solar energy can provide to everyday families, and not cost or technology, as the primary hurdle that prevents more families from embracing solar. As he sees it,

“Everyone who owns a rooftop can be financially responsible for their own energy production, use, and management.”

That belief has guided Belmont Solar, and it’s what continues to drive the company’s growth today.

A neighborhood that completely runs on solar energy is not out of the question in Zook’s world. As electrical grid uncertainty and the rising cost of utilities drive Americans to other solutions, and even after the end of federal solar tax incentives, Belmont’s community-first approach positions the company well for what comes next.

Being included in the Financial Times list is about more than just revenue growth; it recognizes the impact of Belmont’s mission in action. Looking ahead, Zook’s goal  “to make solar power a ‘win’ for everyone” remains unchanged. For Belmont Solar, that win is already well underway.

grid-tied solar system

Grid-Tied

Not ready to go completely off the grid yet? No worries! We understand that it can be a huge change from what you’re used to. With a grid-tied system, you’re still connected with your local utility provider, so you have reliable power even if solar energy alone isn’t enough.

hybrid solar system

Hybrid

Want a system that has the best of both worlds? A hybrid system can ease you into an off-grid lifestyle by combining the benefits of both a grid-tied and non-grid-tied system. Plus, it features a home battery backup; if there happens to be a grid outage, you’ll still have power.

off-grid solar system

Off-Grid

Ready to stop relying on your power company? An off-grid system is completely independent, powering your home with high-performance photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, a bank of batteries, and off-grid-compatible appliances.

Commercial

Looking to reduce your energy costs? Adding solar panels can help lower electricity bills and prevent power expenses from eating into your profits. Plus, there are plenty of incentives available for property owners to make the switch.
