Belmont Solar Recognized as a Top Solar Contractor in 2025

Belmont Solar Residential Solar Panel Installation

We’re excited to share some good news as we head into the new year: Belmont Solar has been recognized on three national and statewide “Top Solar Contractor” lists for 2025.

This year, Solar Power World named Belmont Solar:

These rankings highlight leading solar companies across the country, and it’s an honor to be included alongside so many installers who are helping move the industry forward.

What These Rankings Mean

Solar Power World is a premier media outlet that covers the U.S. solar market. Covering solar technology, installation, and development across the U.S., the site also publishes the annual Top Solar Contractors list, one of the most recognized listings of solar companies in the United States. The lists recognize solar companies based on experience, impact, and overall contribution to the industry at large.

For Belmont Solar, recognition on this list means that we can continue to educate homeowners about what solar can do and continue to bring solar energy to our community.

Belmont Solar began in 2002 when founder Ben Zook combined solar panels with batteries to create an off-grid power supply. An experienced electrician who is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), Ben and Belmont Solar have since grown to provide clean power to families across the Mid-Atlantic area.

No matter how big they grow, Belmont Solar has stayed grounded in three core values:

Workmanship, Friendship, and Trust

Workmanship
Friendship
Trust

Those values guide every installation, conversation, and long-term relationship we build with our customers.

As Ben puts it:

“It’s one more indication that we are actively trying, and mostly succeeding,  in sharing the joy of solar power.”

Navigating Change in the Solar Industry

As we move into 2026, the solar industry is facing an important shift. The end of the Residential Federal Solar Tax Credit and the approaching end of the Federal Solar Tax Credit for commercial projects bring new questions and challenges for homeowners considering solar.

At Belmont Solar, our focus hasn’t changed.

“It’s sometimes briefly disheartening to see how much pushback there can be against the concept of solar power,” Ben says. “But then it’s also very encouraging to see the people that love it. That mostly occurs after they took the courageous step to give it a fair try.”

Looking Ahead

No matter how policies evolve, Belmont Solar remains committed to education, quality installation, and trusted local expertise. We believe that informed decision-making is more important than ever as homeowners navigate a changing energy landscape.

As Ben says:

“It means a lot when people see what solar can do, but there are still so many people who have no idea yet.”

We’re grateful for this recognition and for the community that continues to trust us with their solar projects. If you’re curious about solar or wondering what the next year could look like for your home, we’re always happy to talk.
