I’m very happy with my choice to use Belmont Solar for my solar project. I found Ben Zook to be straight-forward and knowledgeable and the installers to be professional and personable.
I talked to three solar firms before deciding to go with Belmont. I ruled out the first firm when I noticed a contentious clause in the fine print of their contract. In final discussions, the third firm promised to get me up and running fast while Belmont promised to do a very neat job. I think this is the reason I ultimately decided to go with Belmont.
During the project, Ben Zook went above and beyond to fix a financing mistake that was clearly my fault and the installers offered to spend extra time in my hot and uncomfortable attic to make the final system look great. The system was finished in a timely fashion, looks awesome and performs as expected. Belmont exceeded my expectations on multiple occasions, which is why I’ve published this review and why I’m recommending them to my father for a ground mount system in the near future.

Finally a friend suggested Belmont Solar. My first call to Ben Zook put me totally at ease, there was no pressure but much professionalism and incredible knowledge. He quoted me not one or two options, but four. Contrary to one review here, he understood my budget and respected it without a second thought. He is a man of great integrity, you will find out for yourself. I can’t help but laugh at the negative reviews below. He “threatened” me too, why, he even showed up in my yard personally to resolve an unforeseen issue, at no charge. Such a ‘troublemaker’, LOL. He’s a very kind and honest man, period.
Long story short, Isaac and Jonathon came from Belmont for the installation, were perfect gentlemen and extremely helpful and clearly very skilled, and a year later I already have forty percent of my investment back in my bank account. It pays back that fast! I’m already saving my dollars to make my system bigger and would not dream of anyone but Ben and the Belmont team…. and I’m in New England!

I thought I knew what I needed but he pointed out other alternatives that in the end made more cents. When choosing a company that installs and knows solar energy systems, choose wisely. Belmont Solar is a local Pennsylvania company with a “big reach”. My search for a company with knowledge, trust, quality workmanship, dependable workers, quality products and an Amish work ethic quickly lead me to Belmont Solar. Belmont has the ability to do large and small systems as well as roof or ground installations. They service a large portion of the Amish farms in central Pennsylvania and are equally as comfortable in working with the small homeowner in other locals. Our estimate was very detailed not only in terms of cost, but also in terms of production and scheduling. Belmont took care of all permitting and paperwork for our electricity provider, county, and final inspection report. Our installation a month ahead of schedule, and our energy production is well ahead of Belmont’s projections. After completion, we received followup calls from the OWNER of the company, just to make sure everything was satisfactory. Highly recommended!!

February 20, 2020; 5 Stars! Highly technically qualified, knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, thoughtful, gentle, considerate, kind, competent and skilled solar system installers! Starting with the initial sales contact, all of Belmont Solar staff have your best interests in mind, and not just to make a sale. Their concern was to present me with ideas that could lower my energy costs, be financially affordable, and the best system to meet my needs, not theirs. I have had two previous quotes for solar systems, and no one, no one gave me as much helpful information to reduce energy costs and improve the comfort of my home. None of the Belmont Solar staff or the other contractors they suggested applied any sales pressure. Very much appreciated! When the system was installed, the installers were very considerate of our needs and in making a low impact, clean installation of our solar system. Kathy and I are very happy with our solar system and especially with the entire Belmont Solar staff. I am 72 years old and very interested in keeping our planet healthy so my children and grandchildren will have a comfortable, safe, healthy place to live. Belmont Solar showed me how to realize my dream and save a lot of money. And yes, even at this age it was worth it! I highly recommend Belmont Solar to anyone even thinking about a solar system. August 19, 2020: I am very happy with solar panel installation by Belmont Solar. Since February 2020 I have saved $917.19 in electricity costs! These savings exceeded the conservative predictions in Belmont’s proposal for the last two months. This is a contractor you can trust to be truthful and have your best interests at heart. We started our solar journey in March of 2020 after the COVID shut down left us with a bit more time on our hands than expected. After falling out with another solar company that proved to be disreputable, we landed on Belmont Solar. Our experience with them was excellent! They were professional, honest, and timely in every step of the process from planning to installation. They listened when I said, for instance, that I wanted to upsize our system to accommodate a future electric car and worked with us to make that option a reality. It bears mentioning again that our installation occurred during the COVID pandemic, yet Belmont’s staff worked to ensure our safety while still completing the job in the allotted time frame. As mentioned above, all solar companies are NOT alike, and fortunately for us we ultimately found a great one. Based on our experience, I absolutely recommend Belmont Solar as a superior solar installation company!
